Skrrrt Scooters at a glance

The problem

Outgrew a basement and small workshop; needed secure space for remote customer drop-offs; juggling utilities across multiple locations.

The solution

Flexible warehouse space with 24/7 access, an intercom for remote drop-offs, all-inclusive pricing, and easy unit upgrades.

The results

50% business growth in 12 months; expanded to a larger unit; added technicians; streamlined operations with hands-off customer drop-offs.

Mak Bakkal started Skrrrt Scooters in 2019 with a simple premise: if it's electric with wheels, they'll fix it. The business outgrew a basement, a storefront, and a small workshop. At WareSpace, an intercom lets customers drop off scooters remotely and all-inclusive pricing ended utility juggling, and business grew 50% in his first year.

Before WareSpace: outgrowing every space

Skrrrt Scooters started in a rented basement, then a shared storefront, then a 10x40 workshop. Each space had the same problem: someone had to be physically present to receive customer drop-offs.

Managing utilities across multiple locations made everything harder, and traditional leases locked Mak into spaces that were either too small or too big.

It is really nice that it's all inclusive. Everything's taken care of for you. The WiFi, lighting, it's all taken care of. So it's a bit off my plate essentially. And knowing the price that I see is the price that I get is really nice.

Making the switch: finally finding flexibility

The intercom system solved his biggest headache: customers buzz themselves in and drop off scooters without anyone on-site, and a courier uses a code to pick up scooters every Wednesday.

All-inclusive pricing covers rent, utilities, and WiFi in one payment, while 24-hour access and the freedom to change unit sizes sealed the deal.

Where they are now: 50% growth and counting

Just over a year in, business grew roughly 50%. Mak added technicians because the space and systems supported it, and an upgrade to a bigger unit took about a week with no lease renegotiations.

A building full of motivated business owners added unexpected motivation and accountability.

WareSpace has absolutely helped my business grow, not only in how much space I'm able to use, but in how many technicians I'm able to bring in, and the amount of things that I'm able to do.
